Tzum 2018 Eventyr, Columbia Gorge White Wine
This is from a 7-acre site planted a the edge of the rainforest on the far west side of extinct shield volcano called Underwood Mountain. The vineyard looks down on the Columbia and the near-rainforest location combined with high altitude and alpine influence makes this one of the latest ripening spots in the Gorge. Most of these grapes go into the "Spring Ephemeral" Albarino, but this wine was made from a two barrels of the best grapes that were aged separately for an additional year. The resulting wine is denser, drier and more structured than the regular bottling, with heightened aromatics of tilia, honey and lavender.
